Hello…

I hand-create glass art inspired by my expeditions to remote wild nature using glass and unexpected techniques.

I am passionate about being in extreme wildernesses - especially oceans and ocean life, mountains and ice.  I am fortunate to have sailed, dived, kayaked and swam with majestic whales and sharks in remote locations including Antarctica, the Arctic and the Galapagos.

These big expanses give me a sense of adventure and exhilaration and being there is a real privilege. Vast, rugged landscapes make me feel very small but connected with this world. I am concerned about their fragile future and want to raise awareness so others care and protect them too.

Glassblowing is the hardest thing I have ever done! It’s challenging, expensive, addictive and satisfying. My making process can be dramatic and is part of my overall enjoyment. I enjoy combining my adventure travel and glass making passions to create beauty.

BBC Make It at Market - prime-time viewing! Series 1 Episode 9

I feature in a brand new BBC TV programme called “Make It at Market” hosted by Dom Chinea of BBC’s “The Repair Shop” which has been transformational for me.

On Friday 24th November I hit the heady heights of prime-time TV with the 4th repeat at 7.30pm on both BBC1 and BBC2!!

The programme helps aspiring artists and hobbyists from a range of different crafts to see if they can - and want to - make a profit out of their passion with guidance from mentors in their respective crafts.

The first series features 15 episodes, each featuring two artists, and first released in January 2023 on BBC1 and BBC2 with subsequent repeats on both channels through the year as well as being available on iPlayer and released around the world on BritBox.

My episode is Series 1, Episode 9. The series is being repeated now, daily on U and Yesterday channel.
See here: https://u.co.uk/shows/make-it-at-market/series-1

Or on Britbox link: https://watch.britbox.co.uk/ - requires sign in. Available in USA, Canada, Australia, Scandinavia and most of Africa. Originally screened 7 February 2023.

You will be thrilled to know that Series 2 will be aired from Monday 27th November 2023 and the team are currently filming Series 3!!!

LUXlife magazine winner of Best Nature-Inspired Bespoke Glass Art 2024 – UK

LUXlife Magazine Home & Garden Awards 2024

I am proud to have been awarded the “Best Nature-Inspired Bespoke Glass Art 2024 – UK” by this prestigious luxury magazine with a circulation of 94,000 globally.

LUXlife wrote on 17th May 2024: “When we’re looking for luxury around our homes, and in our gardens, there are so many layers to what we’d like to achieve. However, with our winners, there are products and services that can meet every décor need and aspiration. No matter how lavish we’d like our spaces to be, there’s always something deeply sophisticated to enjoy from our awardees. Additionally, their approach speaks volumes for their operation; always prioritising the customer experience, our winners go the extra mile to achieve more for us.

LUXlife launched the Home & Garden Awards to recognise and celebrate those who strive for excellence so that we don’t have to worry about a thing. Why not sit back, relax, and peruse our winners list and publication – there’s something for everyone.

Awards Coordinator Kaven Cooper commented on the success of our Home & Garden Awards 2024: ‘This programme is here to recognise excellence, and our winners are the true embodiment of luxury. Furthermore, they’re innovating their industries as they continue to think of our enjoyment while taking the environment into account. I’ve been looking forward to sharing the news on our awardees, and I’m sure they will continue to succeed in all they take on.’”
